Crista Nursing Center's total care wing had been unable to eliminate odors even when correct resident, linen and housekeeping procedures were in place. The fecal and urine odors emanating from their incontinent patients were a constant source of complaints from staff and visitors alike.

They installed three Honeywell model F115C self-contained surface mount air cleaners in the hallways of the total care wing. In addition they added 25 Honeywell portable model F113C air cleaners in each of their 25 resident rooms. Within hours the staff, visitors and residents noticed an absence of the odors that had plagued them for years. Within 30 days they ordered additional surface mount units for other wings of their facility.
